latin and classics
I'm Lawrence and I teach Latin and Classics in Bristol.
I have a BA in Ancient History from King's College London and a PGCE in Latin with Classics from the University of Cambridge. I am particularly interested in Tacitean studies and the history of memory in classical antiquity. In 2021 I won the Classical Association's 'Outstanding New Teacher' award. I also enjoy creating teacher guides and student workbooks. Please feel free to use my resources!
You can get in touch with me via Twitter if you have any questions - I'm more than happy to help.

Director of Studies
'Lawrence’s workbooks were invaluable when teaching a new topic on the A-Level course. The combination of activities for students with resources and study questions from the textbook was excellent and engaging. The inclusion of quotes from both ancient and modern sources served to give an introduction in how to use scholarship, and encouraged wider reading. I highly recommend Lawrence’s workbooks to any Classics teacher, new or experienced.'
The Classical Association,
'Lawrence completed the PGCE in 2020 and in his first year of teaching he has made positive contributions to Classics teaching both locally and nationally. He uses technology in innovative ways in timetabled lessons. An avid user of twitter, Lawrence shares his pedagogical tips daily with the Classics teaching community @lfmcnally.
Lawrence radiates the generous spirit of the Classics teaching community and deserves to be recognised for his significant achievements – all within his first year of teaching!'
Teacher of Classics
'We have used the workbooks this year and the focus they have given the students has been great.'
